Has Your Practice Made Progress on Your ICD-10 Timeline?

calendarEven though business sometimes slows down in the summer, this doesn’t mean you should reduce the pace of your practice’s ICD-10 preparations. This is the perfect time to make sure you’re sticking with or catching up to the timeline you’ve developed, or one of the many developed by industry organizations. Regardless of where you currently are in preparations, this month you should focus on action plan development, which includes itemizing required steps for both internal and vendor readiness.

There are several steps you can take to make sure you’re on top of everything at this point in the transition, including:

  • Documenting testing and production progress items
  • Beginning  payer contract and fee review negotiations
  • Updating your budget to include external cost estimates along with productivity reductions and payment delays
